Having a Faith of One’s Own

Youth Bible Classes at Kleinwood Church of Christ

Training our children to “live by faith,” by engaging their mind, hands, feet, voice, and heart.

Faith is both the principles and practices laid out in the Gospel and a personal commitment to the Lord Jesus that is lived daily. Faith can easily become nothing more than half-remembered Bible trivia and worship reduced to chores on a checklist. Our knowledge and actions were never intended to operate alone. They need to be aided by a heart enlightened with faith. So, a successful Bible class is one that engages the heart.

Our goal is for students to leave our program “obedient from the heart” (Rom 6:17) and knowing enough to “live by faith” (Rom 1:17).

Teach the Bible

God’s people need to know His Word (Rom 15:4). We focus on both the individual stories and the big picture, understanding how each book, chapter, and verse comes together to form the one story of the Bible (Col 1:16-19).

Explore Practice & Application

Students need to talk about lives devoted to Jesus (John 20:31). These discussions can be challenging, but they will equip young people to judge and act well in their daily lives (Phil 4:9).

Early Childhood Classes

Mommy & Me Class

A place for mothers and their babies to learn in an organized setting. From a very young age, and with repetition, your babies can learn songs and stories about God’s word!

Ages: 6 months to 1 year

Schedule: Offered on both Sunday and Wednesday nights so mothers can choose one of the two nights and still be fed the word in one of the adult Bible classes.

Babies will learn through a variety of catchy songs, fun colorful manipulatives, and picture books.

1 Year Old Class

Children will learn about the greatness of God and simple Bible stories through songs, poems, and hands-on activities.

Every class features:
  • Why we come to class, and how we act.
  • What is prayer? How to pray? What we can pray about?
  • Who wrote the Bible, how we treat it, the names of the Gospels, and our Genesis 1:1 memory verse.

Lessons include: Creation, the birth of Jesus, Noah, Jonah, Moses, the fruit of the spirit, and obeying God.

2 and 3 Year Old Classes

A combined class covering two years of the Bible, focusing on God’s love for us and how we can love him back. Classes alternate annually:

  • Old Testament Year: Creation through the book of Esther (Adam & Eve, Moses parting the Red Sea, Jonah, etc.).
  • New Testament Year: John the Baptist’s birth to Jesus’ death and resurrection, focusing on His life, miracles, and the cross.
